Rainbow Provides Service You Can Count On!
|
| What should be done on collection days? |
- Please set carts out by 6:30 am on collection day.
- Please position your carts on the street in the same spot they were placed when delivered to you with the wheels touching the curb.
- Make sure they are at least 1 foot apart and at least 2 feet away from any obstruction like parked cars or walls.
- PLEASE REMOVE CARTS FROM STREET AFTER SERVICE.
|
| What type of containers must be used? |
Only carts provided by Rainbow Disposal will be collected. The carts are specifically designed for automated collection and come equipped with a hinged, tight-fitting cover, handle bars and large wheels. They have a life expectancy of ten to twelve years. Carts are the property of Rainbow Disposal and are assigned to each residence. Please leave them behind if you move.
|
 95 gallon vs. 65 gallon
|
What if my carts are too big? |
|
If you do not have the space to move the 95-gallon carts through your gateway, 65-gallon carts are available by request. To request a change to your cart selection, please contact Rainbow Disposal. In specific circumstances, 35-gallon carts are available for those with a demonstrated need.

|
| When should I put my carts out for collection of my trash? |
All carts should be out the night before or by 6:30am on your collection day. They should be left out until all trucks have
picked up their respective materials. (Recycle, Green Waste
[if you have a green waste container], and Trash).
|
| Will the different collection trucks be coming closer in time? |
As our drivers become familiar with each route you will
see the time between each truck coming through your area
begin to decrease. It is important that you not take your carts
in before the trucks have collected the materials.
|
| Can I put the plastic bags from the supermarket in the Recycle Cart? (The Blue one) |
Yes, all plastic bags can be recycled.
|
| What about clothing hangers? |
Hangers should be put in the Recycle Cart.
|
| I have noticed some people trying to throw extra bags of trash into the truck after it has emptied the cart. Is this allowed? |
NO, this is dangerous and all materials should be placed in one of the carts for automated pick-up.
|
| Do I have to put all of my carts out? |
This is up to you. If one of your carts is not completely full and you want to wait until it is, you may do so, however please put
out your Trash Cart (Brown) every week for odor and vector control.
|
| I am finding that my Recycle cart is very full. Can I receive another Blue Cart? |
Yes, call Rainbow Disposal to order another Recycling Cart. There is no charge for an
extra Recycling Cart or a larger one.
|
| What improvements do you see happening with the new system? |
First of all, we are excited that people want to help with
recycling to keep materials out of the landfill. As a reminder,
it is important to keep all Green Waste, Food Waste, and anything with
food on it out of the Recycle Cart. Waxed cardboard, such as
milk cartons, wet paper, aluminum foil, and pet waste should all
be placed in the brown Trash Cart.
We are also receiving many comments on how neat and clean the streets look.
|
| In what cart do I place old clothing and other fabrics? |
If the clothing or fabric is usable please donate to a charitable organization. If
not useable, place in brown Trash Cart.
|
| In what cart do I place old garden hoses? |
Place in the brown Trash Cart.
|
| A NOTE OF CAUTION: |
Everyone and especially children are very interested in the Compressed Natural Gas Rainbow trucks and watching how they operate. Please keep your distance and make sure that all children stay at a safe distance.
|
| What if I need extra capacity? |
An additional cart request for recyclables and/or green waste upon review may be delivered free of charge. An additional trash cart will be available for a one-time service charge of $75. Special free pick ups of bulky items are offered. You may request as many as four pick-ups per year (10/4 Pick-up Program). We will collect up to ten items per pick-up. Those items may include bagged trash, as well as old appliances, furniture or bundles of yard clippings. Bagged trash may not weigh more than 40 lbs. Branches must be bundled and tied and not exceed four feet in length.
|
| What about construction and demolition waste? |
The waste from remodeling your home cannot be placed in your carts. You must call Rainbow Disposal and arrange for Rent-A-Bin service.
